Fundraiser Rescheduled Due to Weather

The Freedom Dogs Fundraiser originally scheduled for tomorrow (March 8th) has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 22nd from 11am to 2pm. This is AFTER Spring Break. Thank you to all who had originally volunteered. If you are still interested in helping out, please sign-up for a new time using this online form.

Meeting began at 1:33pm

• Old SVA Business
  • Minutes from the last meeting were reviewed.
  • Good turnout at the Camo Cocoa event
    • Cocoa recipe was a hit
    • Coffee from Capt Roasty was very tasty
• New Business
  • Freedom Dogs
    • Tuesday – March 8, 2016 from 11am to 2pm (or when supplies run out)
    • Selling Hot Dogs, Chips & Drink
    • Need volunteers – come out for however long you can support between 11 & 2pm
  • Petition for the Student Vet Center begins on Tuesday March 8th
    • Come by the Freedom Dogs event to sign the petition
  • VP Announcement
    • SVA will be getting more involved in promoting programs that provide services and resources for veterans, as well as coordinating training for programs that provide training to help others
      • Examples of programs are: FAST, EQUEST, HCC, ASIST,

  • SVA Supply Box
    • The SVA is gathering donated equipment to increase our efficiency and independence when holding events. Items such as: extension cords, table cloths, tables, power strips, etc.
      • If you have something you would like to contribute to the equipment box, please contact the VP Coty Jacobs at BrookhavenSVA@gmail.com

  • CVA Phone Bank
    • Tuesday March 23rd in Room S220 from 4pm – 7pm (although it may terminate around 6pm if calling the east coast)
    • Concerned Veterans for America (cv4a.org) is a grass roots advocacy program
    • Current focus is the VA Accountability Act
    • Refreshments available
  • Activities Survey
    • complete the survey via email
    • help the SVA improve services to the student veteran population
